A pleasant Christmas gift for inmates of orphanage
On the 9th of December, 2012 in Riga Old Town Dome Square was held Cheerful Santa Claus race. The organizers of the event were Riga Internation "Rotary Club". The purpose of the fun race was to support the Children's Home "Priedīte" in Daugavpils.

From the 1st of January is planned to provide the city's streets and squares lighting by SIA "LabiekārtošanaD”
On the 6th of December Daugavpils City Council Members discussed the issue of permit for PSIA "Sadzīves pakalpojumu kombināts" to hand over its property for use without compensation to SIA "Labiekārtošana D" in the Finance Committee.

Leaders of LOC and the heads of several sports federations visited Daugavpils
On the 4th of December Daugavpils was visited by General Secretary of Latvian Olympic Committee Tikmer Jorge, financial director Aldis Aboliņš, president of the Latvian Federation of swimming Kaspars Pone, President of Wrestling Federation Dzinrars Urbančiks, representative of Federation of gymnastics, Olympic silver medalist Jevgenijs Sapronenko. In Daugavpils Council they have met Daugavpils City Council Chairperson Žanna Kulakova, Vice-Chairman Vjačeslavs Širjakovs, and representatives of the sports sphere.

Chairman of the SSC "Valsts nekustamie īpašumi" appreciated the projects implemented by local government in Fortress
On the 30th of November Daugavpils was visited by SSC "Valsts nekustamie īpašumi" new leader Baiba Strautmane. She visited Daugavpils fortress, where most of the buildings belongs to headed by her structure, inspected other state properties. She had a meeting with Daugavpils City Council Chairperson Žanna Kulakova. After visiting the fortress Baiba Strautmane was pleasantly surprised, saying that quite welcomes the fact that in such a unique object the development occurs.

During a meeting with the Minister of Transport was updated the issue of implementation of Daugavpils Airport project
On the 28th of November community members of Association of Big Cities of Latvia (ABCL), heads of local governments of large cities met the Minister of Transport Aivis Ronis. They discussed many important issues relating to the transport sector in the municipalities. The participants were unanimous that within conditions of limited funding we must focus on the arrangement of the existing transport infrastructure objects, not on the new and big projects, and need to finish the commenced projects.
