Daugavpils government’s establishment – Russian Culture Centre founded in 1994. Main activity directions: preservation and development of Russian culture and Russian national traditions; adopting, teaching and stimulating Latvian culture and historical traditions in multicultural city of Daugavpils and its region; organizing and realization of cultural and educational events.
Annually the Russian house with guided tours is visited by more than 4 thousand people. Many of them are tourists, workers of cultural and educational institutions, representatives of public organizations. Russian house is included in the list of objects that is often visited by foreign visitors and delegations during his official visits to Daugavpils. But the majority of visitors are kindergarten students and students of basic, secondary and vocational schools from Daugavpils and other cities of Latvia.
In Russian house visitors can see the permanent exhibitions of Russian culture dedicated to traditional Russian religious faiths and Russian folk crafts.
