IAU 100 km World Championship will be held in Daugavpils

It has become known that in September, 2014 100 km World Championship race will be held inDaugavpils.DaugavpilsoutrivaledJapan,ItalyandFrancein a fight for right to host the competition.

This year, for the third time alreadyDaugavpilswill host the 50 km stage of the World Cup race, but in 2014 100 km World Championship race will be held inDaugavpils.

This information became public after the meeting of executive council of IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) on January 11-13.

As a result of the closed voting, the right to host Championship was given to Daugavpils. The Championship will be held on September 6^th, 2014.

This year IAU vice-president Liesbeth Jansen will visit the 50 km stage of the World Cup and reexamine the readiness ofDaugavpilsto host the Championship.
