Meeting with the delegations of twin cities was held in Daugavpils City Council

Delegations from Moscow (Russia), Ramla (Israel), Panevežys (Lithuania), Pskov (Russia), Kharkov (Ukraine), Narofominsk (Russia), Babruysk (Belorussia), Batumi (Georgia), Alaverdi (Armenia) and České Budějovice (Czech Republic) arrived to the City’s Festival. On June 8 official reception was held in City Council.

Chairperson of Daugavpils City Council Žanna Kulakova, First Deputy Chairperson Vitālijs Azarevičs and Deputy Chairperson Līvija Jankovska met the guests.

Žanna Kulakova expressed gratitude that the guests accepted invitation and came here to celebrate together the birthday of Daugavpils city. She expressed great pride about the city’s achievements, about what is done, the city develops and new opportunities are constantly appearing.

Guests admitted that the city changes. They highly appreciate cooperation and Daugavpils interest and openness in that cooperation. Head of Pskov delegation Olga Fjodorova was delighted about what does Daugavpils. She admitted that much can be learned and taken from Daugavpils.

Head of Ramla delegation Zina Isakov was in Daugavpils 5 times. Each time she sees a fundamental change in the city. She wished to Daugavpils further progress and to have enough energy.

Head of Alaverdi delegation Saak Antanesjan told that brought to Daugavpils a book collection. He gives it to library, but today, June 10, Alaverdi opens a photo exhibition “Latgale – Land of Lakes”.

Chairperson of Daugavpils City Council Žanna Kulakova thanked for the warm words, for high evaluation of municipality’s work.

Delegations brought presents for Daugavpils and presented them during this meeting.

At the end the gifts for the guests were presented – unique works of Pjotrs Hudobčenoks.
