Owners of neglected real properties will be fined

One of the issues on the agenda at the last meeting of town planning committee of Daugavpils City Council on the 22th of November became the neglected objects belonging to private persons and structures. These are objects in 18 Novembra 208a, Inženieru 3, Lāčplēša 6/8, Turaidas 39 and Tērvetes 17 and others. Despite numerous attempts of Building Board to call to order the owners of these spoiling the urban environment objects and territories, practically nothing has been done. According to Daugavpils City Council Vice-Chairman VjačeslavsŠirjakovs, none of those invited to the meeting owners of neglected objects appeared. But this fact did not become the obstacle to taking the decision: violators will be punished with administrative penalties. In addition, V.Širjakovs informed that the experts of City Department of Planning and construction found an effective method of dealing with owners who do not wish to bring their objects in order. Continuing their activity in the future will simply become unprofitable.

There are lots of neglected objects belonging to private persons and structures in several housing estates of the city. They mutilate the urban landscape and spoil the impression of Daugavpils. However, the municipality of the city began an intensified campaign against the neglected private objects approximately a half of a year before and is not going to stop.
