The exhibition from museum holdings depicts the interior of living room from the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. This interior includes elements of an art nouveau (modern style). High level of spirituality, inward generosity and perfection of plastic forms based on simple forms from natural world, was typical of this style.
Since ancient times the living room was not only place where guests were received but also a house main room and its soul. Here received guests, negotiated and sincerely chatted, read poetry and prose, listened music and sang, or simply had a good time, and right here in the living room, a whole family gathered for dinner or an evening tea, to share impressions of the passing day.
The layout of the living room corresponded to the strict rules and etiquette of those times. Furniture was placed according to the „interests”: in comfortable and cosy corners.
In our living room are authentic objects, which were used in the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. Walls and ceilings were decorated with a floral ornament, typical for an art nouveau (style).
The exhibition of the objects of interior offers you to plunge into a cosy family atmosphere.
