On Friday, April 21 with international seminar-discussion forum of art experts, press conference and ambitious seven new exhibition solemn opening event, Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Center celebrates 4th anniversary.
The new exhibition season - "Silent Season" at Rothko center will begin with a loud noise, joy and gladness, offering for visitors seven outstanding events in Latvian art, traditionally exibiting topical of region, Latvian and foreign art projects.
Silent Season enters unique event in the art history of Latvia – It will be the first time that an art work (“Portrait of advocate Ludwig Meyer”) by the world-famous Norwegian artist Edvard Munch will be displayed in Latvia.
With proven handwriting and recognition silent notes will shine at Erin Lawlor (United Kingdom) solo exhibition ONOMATOPOEIA included works.
Large Latgale region art competition exhibition will take place in Daugavpils for the fifth time, bringing together more than 50 artists, discussing THE SHAPES OF EMPTINESS AND SILENCE.
Richard Denny (Australia) will create a special atmosphere in his solo exhibition THE ERA OF SILENCE. Linda Zivere (Denmark/Latvia) will pass the message using minimalism and feminine fineness in the project IN THE SILENCE.
Daugavpils artist Sanri tells the story of the various forms of contact in solo exhibition COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY, while the direct and true silence conjures event and look back on it, talking about the consequences of life and changes in the project X: CRITICAL BORDER - CHERNOBYL 30 (Lithuania).
April exhibition season will be open till July 2, 2017, but Munch's original work will be available until September 19.
