For the sixth time the festival “Happy Family” was organized by the social workers.

On the 26^thof August the Central Park of Daugavpils has been crowded since early morning. Social workers, representatives of public organizations, educational institutions have started equipping the area for the Sixth International Festival "Happy Family." For the sixth year in a row in their free time, social workers organize massive celebration for the citizens.

The aim of the festival –to actualize the family values, to remind once again that a family is a special institution of our society. The future of our native town, country, nation and each person depends on how children live in modern families, what values ​​they get inculcated.

The festival opened with a performance of Daugavpils theater, after which the citizens were greeted by the Daugavpils City Council chairpersonŽannaKulakova, head of the department of social affairs Svetlana Gavrilova, chairperson of the public organizations’ Council "Varaviksne" Anna Cipkina, spiritual fathers, workers of consulates. Guests of the festival were the representatives of China, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Lithuania. Chinese Consulate broughtthe whole exhibition of photographsin Daugavpils, which aroused great interest among the citizens. Representatives of the Ukrainian consulate placed their exhibition hall in the Central Park.
